1. Our approach
We believe personal productivity tools should respect mental privacy. Most task tools monetize by harvesting work patterns or pushing team upgrades. 10ktasks is designed to be calm, offline-first software where your data stays yours.
2. Local tasks & notes
When you create a task, checklist item, or scratch note, it is written directly to an SQLite database residing on your local hard drive. This data is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
3. Online body doubling
If you choose to participate in our shared body-doubling focus rooms, only your chosen display name and focus sprint duration are shared in real time with other participants in that room. Your specific task titles and note contents are never shared.
4. ActivityWatch analytics
Our optional retrospective analytics integrate with the open-source ActivityWatch protocol. All tracking computation, window-title detection, and deep-work scores are processed strictly on your computer and never exported.
5. Website telemetry & cookies
Our website (10ktasks.com) uses minimal privacy-respecting analytics to track page views and referral sources. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers or sell browsing data to third parties.
6. Payments & support
When purchasing a license, your financial information (credit card, billing address, tax ID) is collected directly by our payment processor and Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments.
10ktasks never sees or stores full payment card numbers. Dodo Payments handles PCI-DSS compliance, sales tax calculation, and transaction fraud prevention.
7. Retention & providers
We retain customer email addresses and license verification tokens solely for software updates, receipt delivery, and license restoration. We do not share customer records with third parties except as strictly necessary to fulfill orders and maintain system security.
8. Your choices & rights
You have the right to request deletion of your purchase record, unsubscribe from transactional updates, or inspect the data we hold. To exercise your rights under GDPR or CCPA, email support@10ktasks.com.
